Service is the main focus of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Service to young people, veterans, families, those in need, those that have and are serving their country. This is the bridge between those that serve and those that have served.

Nationally there are three main efforts of the VFW Military Services department:

the Military Assistance Program (MAP), Operation Uplink, and Unmet Needs.

Teacher of the Year
We recognize the nation's top elementary, middle school, and high school teachers that teach citizenship education regularly and promote America's history and traditions to our young people. The teachers who exemplify good citizenship.

Community Service
Community involvement has always been and continues to be a VFW priority. Annually, VFW and its Auxiliaries donate more than $13 million of volunteer hours to our communities. You can be a part of this endevour. Join us!
